Celebrating Healthcare Professionals at the Iowa Engagement Events

Recently, the PassportUSA team organized two memorable healthcare professional engagement events in Iowa, aimed at fostering community, connection, and celebration. The events were attended by Chloe Hassett, Maeve Maloney, and Grant Roush, all International Employee Supervisors, alongside John Laird, Associate Success Manager. Held in Waterloo and Sioux City, these events highlighted the importance of relationships, not only among the healthcare professionals themselves but also between their families and the team.

A Night of Talent and Laughter in Waterloo

At the engagement event in Waterloo, IA, the team witnessed an evening filled with music and laughter. The event was held at The Brown Bottle, a family-owned restaurant, and featured a grand piano in the lobby that soon became the center of attention. Healthcare professionals and their families took turns playing songs, showcasing their musical talents. Even Grant Roush joined in, treating everyone to a piano performance. The room was filled with laughter and lively conversations as everyone enjoyed getting to know one another better, offering a unique glimpse into the lives of these healthcare professionals and their families outside of the work environment.

Family Fun in Sioux City

In Sioux City, IA, the event felt more like a family gathering than a formal engagement, as described by Chloe. Held at the convention center, the healthcare professionals’ children stole the show, arriving in adorable matching outfits and eagerly joining in the festivities. The team organized a fun-filled game of Singo Bingo, which combined the excitement of bingo with a musical twist. Healthcare professionals, their families, and even the event staff enthusiastically participated in the game. The convention center staff remarked that the PassportUSA group was one of the most enjoyable they had worked with in a long time. The event was a perfect opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals on a more personal level while celebrating their hard work and dedication.

A Reunion of Friends and Families

A particularly heartwarming moment of the events was shared by Grant. He noted that many of the nurses in attendance had already formed close-knit communities through their experiences with PassportUSA. Two nurses from Nigeria, who had first met during their visa appointments in Lagos, reunited at the Iowa event. Though they had come from different regions of Nigeria, they had crossed paths at the U.S. embassy and introduced their families to one another. Now, seated together at dinner, the nurses and their families fondly reminisced about that initial meeting. Their husbands, too, were delighted to reconnect and recall those memories. This reunion highlighted the deep bonds formed not just professionally, but personally, across the globe.
